To truly motivate others 1) discover what their motives, desires & drivers are 2) genuinely connect with and support them from the heart.

About This Quote

When you try to motivate someone, it’s important to know what their motives, desires and drivers are. Motives are the reasons why people do things. Desires are the things that motivate them to act. Drivers are the underlying impulses that keep people motivated. Motivations can be positive or negative, pleasant or unpleasant.

The difference between motives and desires is that motives are thought-based while desires are physical states of being. Motives come from deep within while desires come from outside of someone’s body or mind. Drivers are also thought-based, but they change the way you feel about things. They cause you to act in ways that might not be in your best interest.

If you feel insecure, for example, it might lead you to act unkindly towards people in order to boost your confidence.
